Saturday Morning Joy

In today’s blog I am going to focus on the following:

  • Saturday morning joy

This morning was a great morning. I felt so alive, peaceful and as calm as I had for a while. I got up after a long sleep, albeit a bit longer than I wanted.

I went for a walk in the beautiful sun, listened to my sales training sending my teams ideas, when you love what you do you work weekends. I do believe in breaks, I also believe if you truly love what you do you’d work more then 9-5.

I had my coffee in hand and felt present, calm and awesome. I’ve been feeling very stressed recently so this was super appreciated and cherished.

Often I’ve found myself feeling this on a Saturday morning. I don’t feel like this on Mondays or Sunday nights. So I started making a note of my feel good Saturday morning formula. This is what I came up with for my formula for feeling amazing, so I could duplicate it more into my life:

  • In nature
  • Being present
  • Excitement for where I am now whilst knowing the future is bright
  • Directing my thoughts to the great in life – appreciation
  • On the move
  • Calm relaxed breathing
  • Having purpose in the world
  • Listening to growth audio
  • Knowing any challenge will be dealt with
  • Not feeling free to explore

Then I started to think (but not too much to direct my focus on it) about why I don’t on a Sunday night or Monday. Most people think “oh that’s normal to feel better on the start of a weekend than the end”

Bullshit! Is it normal to feel shit about life on certain days? Why should it be?

Reasons I usually don’t feel awesome on a Sunday / Monday:

  • Racing thoughts about the stressors of work
  • I seriously don’t like my job (would say hate but that’s a very negatively loaded word and they pay) with no purpose
  • Not feeling in control of life
  • Not feeling free to go out and explore nature
  • Not present

So I’ve made a decision to make as many Saturday morning moments in my life as possible. I’ll be reading this formula daily and looking to  live it as much as possible. I’ve also realised to drive to work harder on my side sales work so I can do what I love every day.

Have a great day and I hope you find your own Saturday morning formula.
